DR JACKIE SPURRIER
Mindfulness Teacher
Hi Jackie here! Just a bit about me... I am a West Country girl, born in Devon and brought up in Somerset where I still live with my husband and two busy dogs. We have two grown up children who are studying at university so are home in the holidays.
When I left school I wanted to be a doctor and trained to be a GP and then a sexual health medicine doctor, working in Bath, Bristol, Taunton and Yeovil areas whilst my husband worked as an NHS surgeon. To be honest it was all a bit stressful and when I had my children, I decided, for the good of my mental health and my family that I would pursue my love for art instead. I started painting and haven't looked back. You can see my work on my other website (www.cowsoncanvas.com).
In the midst of some perimenopausal brain fog, I decided that I needed to use my brain in a more academic way and did a course about Health and Wellbeing at Bristol University. It was here that I discovered the science behind mindfulness. I started practising mindfulness, felt the benefits, trained to teach it and now I would love to share what I have learnt with you!
